Main Development Site

To create the entrance to the Sizewell C Plaza and Accommodation campus, we are building a new roundabout to improve safety and connectivity between the B1122, Abbey Road and Eastbridge Road, along with the Sizewell C entrance. This new roundabout will be constructed in the field between the B1122 and Eastbridge Road and is expected to be available for use from January 2026.

The planned schedule for these works:

• 20 January – 14 February 2025 – Construction of a temporary entrance at the roundabout construction site. This entrance will be situated on the B1122 (west) side of the field. There will be temporary two-way traffic lights in place on the B1122 during the construction of the entrance to keep people safe.
• February 2025 – March 2025 – As part of the preliminary works for the new roundabout we will build a temporary construction compound, which will include parking facilities, welfare units and storage space for equipment and materials.
• April 2025 –  January 2026 – Works to construct the roundabout will commence in Spring 2025 and continue throughout 2025. The roundabout is expected to be in use as part of the local highway network in January 2026.There will be a need for temporary traffic management, which will include some road closures, during periods of the construction works and we are working with the contractor to minimise the periods of traffic management in order to minimise disruption.
